Three-week intensive course in oil painting for beginners or non-art majors, covering a variety of techniques.
Foundations - 2D and 3D design. Techniques, representational and non-representational trends in various media are explored, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and collage.
Basic drawing. Introduction to materials and techniques in both objective and subjective drawing, including rudiments of rendering and perspective.
Printmaking Workshop. Introduction to monoprint, relief, and non-toxic techniques in printmaking. The emphasis in this course is on experimentation and creativity, with little emphasis on editioning.
Texas A & M @ Corpus Christi (Spring 1997)
Oil Painting. Advanced individual problems in oil painting, assumes competencies attained in 3303 and 4303 or equivalent courses.
Color; color problems in design, gouache and mixed media. Color is studied and applied to studio oriented design problem.
Painting II, Intermediate oil painting, explores issues of content, imagery, application, and influences of master artists.
Advanced Painting, advanced individual problems in oil painting, assumes competencies attained in 3303.

Color and Design: Introduction to concepts of color in design and their application in two-dimensional art.
Composition and rendering of watercolor. Each semester is progressively more advanced than the previous semester. Initial course covers basic technique, development of skill within at least one technique.
Oil Painting. All levels, including introduction to technique, development of personal direction and style, and conceptual development in advanced oil painting.
Independent Study - Show. Studio research course for a student to complete the B.F.A. studio degree

May Mini-Mester workshop in printmaking. This course is loosely based on the graduate monoprint workshop but adapted to meet needs of non-art majors as well as majors and art education students.
